Signs bring brand to life - the launch of Australia's first organic rum

Here’s something to lift your spirits! We recently joined Sunshine & Sons Distillery for the launch of Australia’s first organic certified rum.

We were thrilled to see the new brand come to life with event signs, banners and A-frames printed by Express Print & Mail. The signage was designed for impact, with oversize bottles and vinyl outdoor banners placed throughout the space.

Matched to the Queensland lifestyle

Nil Desperandum is the Latin translation of “Nothing to Despair”, much like the Aussie term, “no worries”. We reckon it’s a spirit perfectly matched to the Queensland lifestyle.

The rum is produced on the Sunshine Coast and contains organic molasses (a by-product of sugarcane), Woombye water, yeast and nothing else.

Founder and chief imagineer Matt Hobson, said that interest in the launch exceeded his wildest expectations.

"Nil Desperandum isn’t your usual Australian rum, we have made something very special that is certain to impress and is comfortable being compared with the world’s best," Matt said.

“Australian rums aren’t acknowledged around the world. And in our opinion, it’s time they were."

The right ingredients for success

It appears the rum has the right ingredients to make it big not only in Australia but on the international stage.

The taste is sublime…think rich molasses undertones and merging moody streams of mocha, chocolate and vanilla.

"We can't tell you all our secrets, but Nil Desperandum has double the flavour compounds of what is typically found in Australian rum. It tastes like rum should," said Matt.

"Throughout COVID, spirit consumers have become far more discerning about what they drink."

"The new breed of drinkers are very interested in local, sustainability, natural ingredients and favour quality over quantity which will drive a high-end rum renaissance."

The team at Nil Desperandum also produce Sunshine & Sons Gin, vodka and liqueurs.

A huge congrats to Adam, Matt and Michael for relentlessly pursuing their dream of creating an incredible Australian rum!

First batch available now...but be quick!

A limited release of 476 bottles of Nil Desperandum are available and can be purchased from the Nil Desperandum website.

Nil Desperandum has also produced 222 mini (200ml) bottles of Nil Desperandum 'FIRST", with the $22,222 generated from sales to be donated to Queensland charity STEPS Pathway College.
