Praise You exhibition: art prints for a cause
Nailing the printing of designer art prints is an art in itself, with stock selection and the right process essential to achieving accurate representation of the original works.
Praise You is an all-female art show that shines a light on positive body image and raises money for The Butterfly Foundation, Australia’s leading foundation for negative body image and eating disorders.
Artist, illustrator and exhibition co-curator Alex Saba (Lusid Art) contacted Express Print & Mail to produce prints of 29 works for this years’ exhibition.
The prints were created as entry level options for people who loved the works on display and wanted to support the event but may not be able to afford the original artworks.
Contributing artists work with a variety of different media and Alex sought advice from the Express Print & Mail team on stock selection and file set-up to get the best results for the prints.
MOHAWK Superfine for a cotton-like feel
Mohawk Superfine in 270gsm was selected for its smooth, soft, cotton-like feel, printed on the Indigo 7600 machine, the industry benchmark for exceptional digital printing.
Recognised as one of Australia’s largest female art shows, the third annual Praise You exhibition was held at Lightspace Brisbane on 22 August, showcasing the work of 40 women across the globe.
The works illuminate the complex subject of women’s body image, self-confidence and female support in the creative community by appreciating and empowering all elements of the female form through visual art.
Alex said that having the prints available had become a huge part of raising extra money for The Butterfly Foundation, with people purchasing multiple prints on the night.
“I am incredibly happy with the finish of the prints from Express Print & Mail. Thank you so much for your work and for getting them to me in perfect time.
As an artist myself, it’s important that the works were reproduced at a quality both I and the other artists were happy with. They made a great addition to the event. Thank you again - seriously wow! - Alex Saba
